The greatest asset of Malawi is its people, it's often called the “Warm Heart of Africa” referring to the warmth and friendliness of its people, known for being very welcoming, colourful and energetic.
1. Pumulani, Lake Malawi
It is a 3-hour scenic drive to Pumulani from Lilongwe.
2. Likhubula, Mount Mulanje
Great for hiking trails. Mount Mulanje is a mountain in southern Malawi. Sapitwa Peak is the highest point in Malawi (3,002m) and lies 65km east of Blantyre, rising sharply from the surrounding plains of Phalombe and the Mulanje district.
3. Cape Maclear
Cape Maclear is both a working fishing village and a popular tourist stop at the tip of Nankumba Peninsula, on the southern end of Lake Malawi. Known locally as Chembe, this small enclave hemmed in by forested mountains has beachfront accommodations set within the community and the proximity of guest chalets to homes creates a natural setting for travellers.
4. Likoma Island
Likoma Island deserves its reputation as the go-to place for luxury beach lovers. There are only two ways to get there: a charter flight or the ferry.
